When my husband and I had been married six months in 1993, we found I was pregnant with our first child. One particular day I attended church and felt kind of tired. After the service ended I decided to go to the hall where, my husband works. I remember it like it was yesterday. As I was walking I heard a voice from behind me say, “The baby.”
I looked around to see who had spoken. No one was there. Then, I heard it again. “The baby.”
I put my hands on my stomach. It seemed as though someone was following me. I experienced extreme pressure and thought I needed to go to the bathroom. Then my water broke. I didn’t understand what was happening. After I left the bathroom, I continued to wet myself. I quickly went to my husband’s job. We both went to the hospital. The doctors said there was nothing they could do – the baby was coming.
They flew me to another hospital. While on the small plane, I sensed there were two angels outside of the airplane. This song came to mind that we sing in church all the time, “God is good.”
At the hospital they rushed me to the delivery room. I was alone. All I remember is that five or more doctors enter the room. The red light came on and I knew that wasn’t good. I heard the doctors say we have to do a quick C-Section. The baby isn’t doing good.” I learned later that the umbilical cord had come out, but no baby.
When I awoke the doctors said, “You have a boy – two pounds two ounces.”
When I saw him I knew he was a little miracle. Now he is six years old. We also have another miracle — another son, three years old. Miracles because I was told I would never have children. They were wrong, and God was right.
